Day at the beach
on Cayo Costa - Excellent shelling on seven miles of
white sand beach. Swimming in the Gulf of Mexico. If you
want to spend a day at the beach at Cayo Costa, you will
need to bring a picnic lunch and beverages in a cooler.
There are no stores or restaurants on Cayo Costa. There
is a tram that takes you and your chairs, coolers, etc.
from the Bayside to the Gulfside. The current entrance
Fee to Park is $1.00 per person, children 6 years and
under are free. Park fee includes tram to the beach |
Paddle the
beautiful protected waters of Pine Island Sound,
Charlotte Harbor or Jug Creek River. Charts and route
suggestions will be given or follow the markers for the
brand new second phase of the Great Calusa Blueway
Paddling Trail. Enjoy the wilderness of our mangrove
encircled islands. Travel for miles with your only
companions the abundant wildlife of osprey, eagle,
herons, egrets, pelicans (brown and white), roseate
spoonbills, magnificent frigate birds and more. In the
clear waters, fish are teeming and the occasional
dolphin or manatee will join you |
